Lately, I've been getting so caught up with perfection when creating. I think that some of it has to do with being on such an awesome design team & stressing about 'stacking up' to my talented teammates. I know I just need to get over it and stick with my style, but it's hard to just create without doubting myself.
One way that I've tried to get over my insecurity was just to create for the sake of creating. This weekend, I pulled out Bubblegum, the September card kit add-on from Studio Calico to do that. This was my first card kit purchased from Studio Calico, and I have to admit, the stamp set sold me. I loved the font of the greetings & the possibilities of all of the floral layers.
I set everything I needed, like ink pads, stamp blocks, and smooth white paper on my breakfast bar, so that every time I needed to pump (every 3 hours) I could pump while stamping my heart out. I had such a great time experimenting with color combinations and realized that I forgot just how much I loved stamping. To anyone who is having a hard time finding the time to create, I highly recommend just setting a few supplies out, ready to go, so that when you find a few extra minutes, you aren't wasting them gathering supplies.
Here's a few of the cards that I created.
With this one being my favorite.
Supplies: Studio Calico Bubblegum kit, Calypso Coral ink, Crisp Cantaloupe ink, Delightful Daffodil ink, Pistachio Pudding ink, Lucky Limeade ink, Basic Black ink, Coastal Cabana ink, American Crafts striped ribbon, greeting stamp (Stampin' Up! Happiest Birthday Wishes- retired)
How do you get yourself out of a creative rut?
