Altenew Painted Butterflies: Just Saying Hello

Last week, I was featured as the guest designer on the Altenew blog, and today, I’d love to share my first project with you, a new 8-1/2” x 11” layout all about a trip to visit the butterflies at the Natural History Museum, that turned out exactly as I hoped it would.

Altenew_MeghannAndrew_JustSayingHello_01.jpg

The supplies that I chose to create this layout just fit the photos of my daughter perfectly, so happily holding a butterfly. I wanted a colorful and ethereal feel, and I achieved that with a bit of help from the Live Your Dream Scrapbook Collection*. I started out with an 8-1/2” x 11” background paper from the collection, which gave me the beautiful mixed media feel without any of the mess! From there, I decided that I wanted to match the beautiful colors of the background with anything I added on top.

Altenew_MeghannAndrew_JustSayingHello_02.jpg

Along with the elements in the Live Your Dream Scrapbook Collection, I stamped the beautiful Painted Butterflies onto white cardstock, as well as vellum, to soften them, and placed them in their corresponding color on the background paper.

Altenew_MeghannAndrew_JustSayingHello_04.jpg

My title, “Just Saying Hello” was perfect for this page, and came about simply because it was one of the sentiments included in the Painted Butterflies stamp set! I wanted the word “hello” to be larger, so I swapped out the stamp word with the puffy black alphabet stickers from the Live Your Dream Scrapbook Collection!

Want to see how this layout came together? Watch the video below to see my process!

Be sure to take a look at the Live Your Dream Scrapbook Collection and Painted Butterflies stamp set in the Altenew shop today, to create your own colorful and dreamy projects! Thanks so much for visiting today and happy creating!

2019-Anniversary-BlogHop-Graphic.jpg

Hello friends! Today I’m excited to be joining on the Altenew 5th Anniversary Blog Hop on day three! Be sure to check out the Altenew blog for the full hop details, but you can also find all of the stops for today’s hop listed below!

Today I’m sharing a new layout with you, created with the lovely Live Your Dream Scrapbook Collection*!

Altenew_MeghannAndrew_FairyHome_01.jpg

Supplies | Live Your Dream Scrapbook Collection, Happy Dreams Stamp Set, Our Family Wooden Veneers, Our Family Enamel Dots

Combining the Live Your Dream Scrapbook Collection with the Happy Dreams Stamp Set created a dreamy, ethereal layout to document my daughter, dressed as a fairy, hanging her newly-built fairy house.

Altenew_MeghannAndrew_FairyHome_02.jpg

Around my photo, I created a frame of patterned paper, then white cardstock, stamped with the fun arrows from the Happy Dreams Stamp Set. The cute teapot planter chipboard sticker was perfect for adding to the corner of my photo.

Altenew_MeghannAndrew_FairyHome_04.jpg

I love my title, which I created with the black alphabet stickers in the Live Your Dream Scrapbook Collection and the “home” wood veneer word found in the Our Family Wooden Veneers. I added this title to the bottom left corner of my photo, just below my journaling, which I printed onto vellum, and backed with a Live Your Dream Scrapbook Collection paper.

Altenew_MeghannAndrew_FairyHome_05.jpg

In the corners of my layout, I stamped the star clusters from the Happy Dreams Stamp Set, then embellished further with Our Family Wooden Veneer stars and Our Family Enamel Dots. All of these products came together so perfectly to create a magical page!

Crafty Friends Blog Hop Graphic.jpg

Hello and welcome to my blog for the Altenew Crafty Friends Blog Hop! You’ve come here from the talented Zsoka Marko’s blogI

I’d love to connect with you on Instagram, where I’m most social! Now on to the crafty stuff! I have a new 12” x 12” layout to share all about this special job of mine:

Altenew_MeghannAndrew_HappyCreating_01.jpg

Supplies | Our Family scrapbook collection, Mega Greetings 2 stamp and die bundle, Crafty Life stamp and die bundle, Snapshots stamp set, Altenew glue tape

It’s quite rare that I have a photo of myself in front of the camera in my scrap space, and not just my hands for a process video! I wanted to create this layout all about how I love my job and pinch myself every day that I get to create for a living.

Altenew_MeghannAndrew_HappyCreating_04.jpg

After I had my photo decided, it worked out perfectly that I could create my stamped title of my signature tagline, “happy creating,” using the Mega Greetings 2 and Crafty Life stamp and die bundles. I love the way that they look layered on top of each other in the mint green and teal blue ink.

Altenew_MeghannAndrew_HappyCreating_05.jpg

How perfect is this sentiment?! All around my layout, I included stamped elements from the Mega Greetings 2, Crafty Life and Snapshots stamps, along with fussy cut leaves, die cuts, enamel dots and beautiful patterned papers from the Our Family scrapbook collection.

Altenew_MeghannAndrew_HappyCreating_02.jpg

I love this layout, and I hope it has inspired you to document your love for paper crafting just like I did here! Tag me on Instagram when sharing your unique page! Now on to the prizes:

Altenew August 2018 Stamp and Die Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Altenew_Blog Hop Graphic.jpg

Hello, and welcome to my blog! I'm so excited to be joining in on the Altenew August 2018 blog hop, and if you're following the hop list, you've come here from Nicole Picadura's blog. This month I worked with these beautiful stamps from the entire line of new releases*:

This Inked Flora stamp set has beautiful, sketchy flowers perfect for making a statement on your project, along with plenty of handwritten sentiments.

I love the font combinations on the Mega Greetings 2 stamp! It's perfect for layout titles or card greetings, and you can also purchase the Mega Happy Die and the Mega You Die to coordinate with the stamp!

All of the new releases hitting the shop today come with tri-fold insert cards showcasing lots of added inspiration, project ideas, printed layering guides, and other useful information!

Using these new products, along with the Our Family scrapbook kit, I created a brand new 8-1/2" x 11" layout about my lovely little girl:

Altenew_MeghannAndrew_HappyYou_01.jpg

How pretty are those big flowers? I loved stamping them in different colors on my layout background, as well as embossing them and watercoloring the inside to create a beautiful embellishment piece.

Altenew_MeghannAndrew_HappyYou_04.jpg

The Mega Happy Die and the Mega You Die created the perfect title for this page. I cut "happy" twice: first with the purple paper from the Our Family scrapbook kit, then with a piece of gray cardstock to create a shadow. Using gold metallic cardstock for the "you" word created a nice visual triangle of gold on my page with the embossed florals.

Altenew_MeghannAndrew_HappyYou_05.jpg

I had so much fun creating this page that I didn't want to stop making! I decided to create a greeting card, too!

Altenew_MeghannAndrew_YouAmazeMe_01.jpg

The gorgeous watercolor paper from the Our Family scrapbook kit created the perfect background for this simple and easy card.

Altenew_MeghannAndrew_YouAmazeMe_02.jpg

Using the washi tape from the Our Family scrapbook kit to create a shelf on the card front, I adhered the stamped and die-cut "you" using the Mega Greetings 2 stamp and die, then repeatedly stamped "amaze me" from the same stamp set. I just love how it turned out, and it was so easy to create!

GIVEAWAYS:

Now the part that you've come here for! The giveaways! To celebrate this release, Altenew is giving away a $50 gift certificate to 6 lucky winners! Please leave a comment on the Altenew Card Blog and/or Altenew Scrapbook Blog by Wednesday, August 22nd for a chance to win. 6 winners will be announced on the Altenew blogs on 8/26/2018.

Altenew "Our Family" Scrapbook Kit: Cali Life

I finally had the opportunity to meet May with Altenew* at Creativation, and it was so lovely to finally put a face to someone who I have corresponded with for a couple of years now! This company is making amazing things; including stamps, inks, dies AND paper products, and I was totally humbled when she handed me their newest scrapbook kit, Our Family*, to create with, no strings attached. It's taken me a while to have time to crack it open, but when I did, I was so inspired to document a beautiful day we shared together in Laguna, California. (*All product links contained in this post are affiliate links. You don't pay any extra, but I get a small percentage of your sale! Thanks for your continued support of my YouTube feed and this blog!)

MeghannAndrew_CaliLife_BLOG.jpg

Supplies | Altenew "Our Family" scrapbook kit, Crate Paper Carousel ephemera die-cuts, Crate Paper Carousel chipboard stickers, Crate Paper Carousel stars

The base for my layout was created with a gorgeous multi-colored "painted" background from the Our Family scrapbook kit. I knew as soon as I saw it that it would be the perfect backdrop for these colorful photos from an adventure at a beach playground.

MeghannAndrew_CaliLife_03_BLOG.jpg

The elements in the kit, like these colorful chipboard alphabet stickers, paired perfectly with my photos, as well as the Crate Paper Carousel collection ephemera die-cuts. I love their thin font, as well as their painted border.

MeghannAndrew_CaliLife_02_BLOG.jpg

To add to my title at the bottom of the page, I paired those alphabet stickers with the "life" chipboard sticker, also from the Our Family scrapbook kit, which topped the die-cut camera, accented with the chipboard sticker heart. My layout didn't need much more embellishment, but the Carousel stars and gorgeous enamel dots from the Our Family scrapbook kit finished off the page.

MeghannAndrew_CaliLife_04_BLOG.jpg

This page was so fun to create with this beautiful kit! See my video below for the full process of its creation, as well as a look into the kit itself before I got to work:

Thanks for watching! What will you document with the gorgeous Altenew Our Family scrapbook kit? Happy creating!

Altenew Scrapbook Collection Blog Hop + GIVEAWAY

I am so excited to be back with you again for another Altenew Scrapbook Collection blog hop! I have had so much fun working with the Reflection Scrapbook Kit*, and I can't wait to show you what I created. (*All product links are affiliate links. You don't pay any extra, but I get a small percentage of your sale! Thanks for your continued support!)

First, let's have a look at the kit itself:

If you purchase a Reflection Scrapbook Kit, you also get a free gift!

The Reflection Scrapbook Kit is completely filled with paper (2 pieces for each double-sided pattern), stickers, chipboard, die-cuts, wood veneer, puffy alphabet stickers, transparent die-cuts, wooden buttons, acrylic frames, and more! There is so much here that I've barely dented my kit. I've created soft dreamy layouts with it, as well as this new bold and vibrant layout for the hop today:

I've seen some amazing, bold creations using the Halftone Circles Stamp Set, but I wanted the circles on this layout to be a little more "low-key." When I trimmed my 12" x 12" painted rainbow patterned paper down to 8-1/2" x 11", I made sure to leave a bit of space on the side that I could stamp the circles on with the coordinating ink colors. I then used circle punches to cut out the circles and adhere on my page with dimensional adhesive.

Along with the stamped circles, I also added coordinating embellishments from the Reflection Scrapbook Kit, along with sequins from my stash in their respective colors on the background.

My title was so easy to piece together using the transparent die-cut word "beautiful" from the kit, along with the puffy alphabet stickers.

My favorite part of the layout is the wood veneer butterfly that I colored in with a water pen and the same ink colors that I used on the Halftone Circles. To create a boundary between the colors, I colored the division between the sections with black permanent pen  and added a few sequins for sparkle. I love the way this colorful butterfly looks at the bottom of the page, pointing up toward my title, photo and journaling.

Now for the exciting part! I am giving away a $30 gift certificate to one lucky winner who comments on this blog post! Just tell me what your favourite part of summer is in a comment (don't worry- you can also comment as a guest on this blog) and I will choose a winner on Friday July 21st at 10:00am CST.

Altenew is ALSO giving away a $50 gift certificate to THREE lucky winners! Please leave a comment on the Altenew Scrapbook Blog by Wednesday July 19th at 11:59pm EDT for a chance to win. Winners will be announced on the Altenew blog on Saturday July 22nd.

Altenew Scrapbook Kit Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello there! I am so excited to be participating in the Altenew Reflection scrapbook kit release blog hop today, and if this is your first visit to Brioche and Blessings, thanks for stopping by! I had so much fun opening and creating with this beautiful kit!

The bright and vibrant colors in this kit will take you back to all those happy moments captured at home or abroad. From trendy watercolor painted papers, to beautiful cityscape postcards and a wide assortment of embellishments, this kit is perfect for creating gorgeous layouts, wall art, mixed media projects, and many more!

Altenew_Scrapbook_Kit_Numbers.jpg

The kit contains:

  1. 48 sheets of 12”x12” patterned paper (two of each design)

  2. One 8.5”x11” cardstock sticker sheet

  3. Two 6”x12” alphabet puffy sticker sheets

  4. 20 8.5”x3.5” watercolor cityscape postcards

  5. One 2x3 photopolymer clear stamp set

  6. 20 epoxy buttons with adhesive back

  7. 34 cardstock and acetate die cuts

  8. 12 origami wood veneer shapes

  9. Two white resin decorative frames

  10. One 8.5”x11” chipboard sticker sheet

  11. One rubber roller stamp

The travel-themed elements of the kit had me pull out a couple of favorites from a family trip to Paris in 2014. I gravitated toward the beautiful green and blue watercolor designs, which worked perfectly with the beautiful, blue sky in my photos and accented with pops of bright pink.

There are SO MANY embellishments to choose from in this kit, but I was drawn to the the "let the adventures begin" wreath chipboard. It inspired me to add four circular elements to the right side of my photo mat.

With so many different elements in this kit, the bright colors and clean design, the Reflection kit is definitely one that should be a treat to yourself this Christmas!
