Create a Halloween Door With This Die-Cutting HACK!
/Hey there, friends! Today I went live on my YouTube channel to create a spooky Halloween door using the Pretty Pink Posh August release! In this video, watch as I use arch nesting dies to create a dimensional, four-panel door (total die cutting HACK!) and deck it out with a spooky Halloween wreath! Check out the amazing card that I created in today’s video:
I knew I wanted to create a card with the fantastic Halloween Wreath Builder Dies, but I wanted a door to put it on. This got me thinking of ways to create a door—and I grabbed the new Stitched Arches Dies! Be sure to watch the video to see how easy it was to use two of these nested arches to die cut, then trim my way to a dimensional, four-panel door!
With a bit of ink blending the edges, and using the Crackle Background Stencil, I made this door spooky and distressed. A bit of Raven Splatter Effects added the perfect final detail to the door, and I was ready to top it with my custom Halloween wreath!
I used layers of cardstock and specialty glitter paper to make this thorny wreath from the Halloween Wreath Builder Dies stand out, and added three different leaf details, pumpkins, and a bow. To add one more touch, I die cut spider webs and spiders using the Halloween Caramel Apple Dies to add to the edges.
I wanted the sentiment to be simple, so as not to take away from the scene, and I went with ‘Halloween Greetings’ from the Halloween Banner Greetings Stamp Set, die cutting it with the Banner Greetings 4 Dies. I finished off the card with a bit of shine using the purple confetti pieces from the Rainbow Shimmer Confetti Mix.
What do you think of today’s card creation? Will you be using the die cutting door hack on a card project?
