November Monthly Planner Spread with Creative Devotion

Last Friday, I was up on the American Crafts blog, talking about how I wanted to start using my monthly overlook pages in my planner for 2018. At the moment, I've only been using my weekly pages, leaving my monthly overlook completely bare. Since I've decided that that monthly-view is quite important, I've decided to combine my love of paper crafting with planning for these pages only, and I've done that, starting with my November monthly spread in my Get to Work Book. 

When I saw the Creative Devotion collection amongst my product box of American Crafts supplies, I wasn't sure how I would use it at first—I haven't really carried around my bible since I became an Episcopalian, and writing in my bible at home is a hard notion for me to conquer, but once I started looking at the products, I saw how perfectly they would work for planning pages! That, combined with the beautiful colors and patterns in the Dear Lizzy Star Gazer collection, created a perfect monthly view for November.

A mix of Dear Lizzy Star Gazer and Creative Devotion products helped this spread come together. I'm not much for over-embellishing in something I like to keep quite flat, so I used quite a few stamps, washi tape and patterned paper to add color and pattern.

The cute Dear Lizzy cardstock stickers and patterned paper helped me to mark important dates, like daylight savings time ending and our week in Disneyland! I also used the Creative Devotion washi tape sets to mark important birthdays, especially the Marine Corps birthday on the 10th!  There are so many beautiful tapes in those sets, it was hard to choose which to use!

One of my favorite products in the Creative Devotion collection is the Sticky Note Dashboard. It includes sticky notes in various sizes and colors, perfect for adding notes to your planner pages! I used it to mark meetings and our family photo day this month.

There could not have been a more perfect way to mark Thanksgiving than using the Dear Lizzy Star Gazer "Thankful Thursday" washi tape saying, which I cut into a circle and placed inside a stamped wreath from the Creative Devotion stamp set. I finished off the page with the same Star Gazer patterned paper and a strip of copper washi tape, which matched the beginning of my monthly spread and balanced out the layout.
