Holiday Color Inspiration with Spellbinders!
/Hello! Today I went live on my YouTube channel, inspired to create a holiday card using the new Holiday DIY Color Deck, along with The Snow Notes dies from the Wonderland collection from Spellbinders. Watch the livestream on replay by clicking ‘watch on YouTube’ below and don’t forget to hit the thumbs up and leave a comment on the video!
I had so much fun creating my color scheme using the new Holiday DIY Color Deck Expansion Pack.
This deck includes 12 inspiring cards with illustrations that you can match to the cardstock colors you have on hand. I used a 1” circle punch to add colors from the ColorWheel cardstock collection. My inspiration piece was a colorful scene showing a sunset on the mountains, and I took those colors, creating a blended, embossed background for my card.
Once my background was blended with Briar Rose, Carnation, Buttercup and Harbor inks from Concord & 9th, I spritzed it with water and ran it through the Platinum 6 machine using the Flurry of Snowflakes 3D embossing folder. This added the most amazing snowy texture to the background, which I accentuated using Pops of Color medium in Pearl - Satin usiing Domed Foam Applicators.
I added my three singing snowmen next, choosing colors from the Holiday DIY Color Deck card, accenting with a metallic gold book and a double-layered white and gold sentiment.
I hope you enjoyed today’s livestream, and you’re inspired to try out a new color scheme for your holiday cards using the Holiday DIY Color Deck Expansion Pack! Thanks so much for watching! Be sure to see the supplies that I used to create this card in the supply list below. Happy creating!
