Let's Create Masculine Cards with Gina K. Designs!

Hello, friends! Today, I am going live with Gina K. Designs on Gina’s YouTube channel to give you ideas for creating masculine cards using the new Floral Fix card kit! Click ‘watch on YouTube’ on the thumbnail below to open the video in a new tab so that you can chat with us live at 2 pm Eastern time!

Take a look at the cards and tag that you’ll see me share in my livestream:

I love creating clean, colorful designs, and these cards show that cards for him don’t need to be dull or boring! Let’s take a look at each one:

My first card is for all of my stamping lovers out there! I used the Master Layouts 14 die set to create the postage stamp background for my card, masked off using Masking Magic strips, then blended in each postage stamp section using a rainbow of colors: Coral Reef, Sweet Mango, Prickly Pear, Jelly Bean Green, Sea Glass, and Powder Blue. Keeping my Masking Magic strips in place, I moved my Double Background 2/Grip Mat stamp (a new must-have product!) to my Misti, I again masked off each stamp and stamped tool images from the Mr. Fix It stamp, included in the Floral Fix card kit in the cooresponding colors to the background, creating a tone-on-tone effect!

This card would be perfect for any guy in your life, and even a tool-loving little guy, too! My second card is a bit more masculine, but with pops of color that truly stand out!

This time, to create my focal point, I grabbed the Master Layouts 15 die set to cut the 3-piece postage stamp row on the fronf of this A2 landscape card. I again used Masking Magic strips (the same strips that I used for card one were just fine, so I reused them again!) to mask off the individual postage stamps and blended in Faded Brick, Honey Mustard and Prickly Pear. While the strips were still on, I stamped these rectangles with the mesh stamp found on the Sending Flowers stamp using Sandy Beach ink. I love the texture it adds!

Once my background was complete, I stamped the tools using Amalgam Obsidian ink, then colored them with the following colors of OLO Markers:

R0.5, R0.6, OR 3.4, OR 7.6, B 4.3, B 4.6, C-G 3, C-G 5

Even if you’re not great at shading, the amazing detail on these tool stamps hides that, and makes you look like a pro! I die cut these shapes out using the coordinating Mr. Fix-It die set, then adhered them to the posage rectangles using 1mm foam adhesive.

I love a tone-on-tone background, and the new Double Background 2/Grip Mat stamp helped me to create this houndstooth pattern using In the Navy ink on In the Navy cardstock. It looks stunning! I cut this out using the Master Layouts 14 die set to give it a stitched edge, then adhered this to an A2 piece of Faded Brick cardstock. I realized that some of the sentiments on the Sending Flowers stamp were perfect for a Father’s Day sentiment, so I chose ‘for all you do’ from that stamp, and paired it with ‘Dad’ from the Mr. Fix-It stamp to finish off the card.

For my final project, I thought I’d go a bit smaller and create a shaker gift tag!

Using the Master Layouts 15 die set, I cut the cog shape twice from In the Navy, once from acetate, and once from white cardstock. I used the circle from Master Layouts 9 and cut that from white cardstock, too. I used the same circle die to cut out the center of one of my In the Navy cogs, creating a frame which I adhered the acetate cog to. I used the 3D Foam Circle frames from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L to pop up this frame and create the shaker below, which I filled with nails stamped and cut from the Mr. Fix-It set, white and blue Rainbow Hearts, and Micro Disco Ball Sequins.

On the back circle, I added the punny sentiment using the Mr. Fix-It stamp set to finish off the tag!

I hope you were able to watch today, but if not, be sure to watch on replay and check out the supplies that I used to create my projects below!
