Spellbinders Stitchmas Day Ten: A Modern, Clean Design!

Welcome back to the blog today! It’s time for day ten of the 12 Days of Stitchmas—a festive advent-style celebration from Spellbinders that brings together two of my favorite things: cardmaking and stitching! Every day for these 12 days, I’ll be sharing a new Instagram Reel and a new card created with these adorable stitching dies, so be sure to follow me over on Instagram!

Today’s die set includes three charming elements—a stitched ornament, an ornament topper with a sweet bow, and a bold Let it Snow sentiment. As soon as I saw this set, I knew I wanted the sentiment to take center stage.

I die cut Let it Snow twice from Poppy ColorWheel cardstock and adhered the layers together to create a sturdy, dimensional focal point. The bright red makes such a statement and pairs perfectly with the modern design I had in mind.

To create the background, I pulled out the October 2025 BetterPress Plate of the Month: Made With Snowflakes. This plate features an adorable lineup of snowmen—playful, cheerful, and full of personality! I pressed the plate into OLO Marker cardstock using Lawn Fawn Jet Black ink, which is alcohol-marker friendly. Once the impression was complete, I used my OLO Markers to add simple, clean coloring to the snowmen. Even minimal coloring brings them to life! The result is a background that’s full of charm without overwhelming the card.

Here are the OLO Marker colors I used:

  • Hat: R 0.5

  • Nose: OR 2.3

  • Arms: OR 7.6

  • Snow: B 0.2

To elevate the sentiment, I reached for the Everlasting Circles Etched Dies. These were perfect for building a modern, layered mat behind the bold letters. I cut circles from red, blue, and white cardstock and layered them together in the center of the card front. The trio of colors feels crisp and fresh—just right for winter.

Once the circles were adhered, I added the dimensional Let it Snow sentiment on top to complete the design. Today’s card may be simple, but I love how clean and modern it feels. The playful snowman background and bold sentiment pair beautifully for a cheerful winter greeting.
