Today’s die set is absolutely delicious—literally! This set creates an adorable Christmas cupcake complete with a stitched liner and icing, a cake layer, berries, and two different greenery pieces to decorate the top. It’s playful, festive, and the perfect way to add something sweet to your holiday crafting.
For my cupcake, I went with a mint green liner and stitched it using matching thread for a soft, cohesive look. I paired the liner with a chocolate cake, topped it with white icing, and added red stitched sprinkles for that classic Christmas pop of color. A trio of red berries finishes it off perfectly—like a little holiday treat you’d find at a cozy winter bakery.
To create the backdrop, I pulled out the Embossing Folder of the Month from October 2025: Holiday Flurry. This folder has the prettiest mix of snowflakes and wintry swirls, and I wanted to highlight that detail.
Here’s how I made the texture stand out:
I coated the top of the folder with Sea Glass ink from Concord & 9th.
I embossed a panel of Waterfall ColorWheel cardstock, repeating the inking and embossing twice, which created a beautiful two-tone effect—the raised design appeared lighter than the background and really popped!
It’s a simple technique, but it adds so much depth to the card!
Once the background was ready, I adhered my cupcake to the center of the card front using foam adhesive to give it height and presence. For a sweet little pun to match the theme, I added the “Make it Merry” sentiment banner from the Make It Merry Sentiments die set. It was the perfect finishing touch for this cheerful design.
Today’s project may be simple, but it turned out oh-so cute! From the festive stitched sprinkles to the frosty embossed backdrop, it’s a fun and easy design that’s perfect for holiday cardmaking.
