Spellbinders Stitchmas Day Twelve: A Regal Stitched Nutcracker Finale
/Welcome to Day Twelve of the 12 Days of Stitchmas—just in time to ring in the month of December! Every day for these 12 days, I have shared a new Instagram Reel and a card created with these adorable stitching dies! I can’t believe we’ve reached the final day of this festive series, and today’s project ends things with a joyful bang.

The final die set is the biggest of the entire advent, and it creates a dimensional stitched nutcracker, complete with stitching dies for his chest, boots, belt, and hat.
For this classic holiday icon, I chose a traditional, regal color palette accented with touches of gold Treasured Cardstock. Instead of stitching every detail, I focused on the belt, breast, and hat, using dark yellow thread to give the nutcracker refined, elegant highlights. The result is bold, timeless, and perfectly festive.
To complete this grand finale project, I reached for one of my all-time favorite embossing folders: the Peppermint Stripes Embossing Folder, which just so happens to be part of the Spellbinders Black Friday sale for only $5!
I embossed a panel of Alabaster ColorWheel cardstock, then added a fun and simple technique to bring the peppermint pattern to life! I masked off the wide stripes using Mint Tape from Scrapbook.com, then ink blended those masked areas with Lumberjack Plaid Distress Ink from Ranger. After removing the tape, the crisp red-and-white stripes created the perfect candy-cane effect across the entire A2 panel.
To anchor my nutcracker, I added a stitched rectangle cut from Pomegranate ColorWheel cardstock, then adhered the nutcracker right in the center to make him the star of the show.
For finishing touches, I added a candy cane, a ‘Tis the Season sentiment, and a small holly leaf and berry cluster. Together, these details brought everything together into a traditional, joyful holiday card design.
I have had so much fun creating each of the twelve cards in this year’s 12 Days of Stitchmas™ series. Thank you for watching along with me each day! If you missed any of the earlier projects—or want to learn more about the products I used, find each of these twelve cards here on my blog, all of the Reels on my Instagram feed and YouTube channel, and don’t miss the final day of the Spellbinders’ Black Friday Sale!
Merry Christmas & happy holidays, friends!
