Spellbinders Stitchmas Day Two: A Merry & Bright Shaped Card
/Welcome back, friends! It’s time for Day Two of the 12 Days of Stitchmas—a festive advent-style celebration from Spellbinders that brings together two of my favorite things: cardmaking and stitching! Every day for these 12 days, I’ll be sharing a new Instagram Reel and a new card created with these adorable stitching dies, so be sure to follow me over on Instagram!

The Day Two die set includes the words “Merry” and “Bright” in a playful, cheerful font—plus the sweetest stitched ampersand. Even though the ampersand includes stitching holes, I decided to skip the thread today and instead cut it from Antique White Treasured Cardstock. The shimmer in this cardstock adds the perfect touch of sparkle without any extra work!
To keep things colorful and joyful, I cut “Merry” and “Bright” from two ColorWheel cardstock hues. These bold colors pop beautifully against the rest of the design.
Instead of creating a standard A2 card, I went with one of my favorite techniques: creating a shaped card! I used the Essential Modern Ovals die set to create both my card base and my card front, choosing a lovely pink cardstock for a festive but unexpected winter palette. Hint: keep an eye out—this staple die set will be part of the Spellbinders Black Friday sale, which has already begun!
For this series, I’m challenging myself to use one accent product each day that pairs beautifully with the Stitchmas die set. Today’s choice? The adorable North Pole Sentiments etched dies by Simon Hurley—another great find currently marked down at a deep discount!
I gave my snowman some festive accessories in shades of pink and red to coordinate with the modern oval card base. He adds so much personality and warmth to this design!
The “Merry & Bright” words curve perfectly around the arches of the modern oval, creating a lovely frame for the center of the card. Once I positioned all of the die cuts—snowman, ampersand, and colorful words—I adhered everything in place.
The finished card is sweet, simple, and full of charm. The shaped design adds a modern twist, and that cute snowman just steals the show!
