Spellbinders Stitchmas Day Seven: A Colorful, Bold Fa La La!

Today’s die set is a true showstopper—a big, bold stitched sentiment that spells out “fa la la” in the most joyful way. Not only do you get the stitched letters, but each one also has a shadow layer, giving the sentiment extra weight, charm, and dimension.
To create my colorful sentiment, I reached for ColorWheel cardstock in red, pink, and green. Each letter was stitched with light pink embroidery thread, adding softness and consistency across the palette. Once the stitched letters were adhered to their shadow layers, the sentiment became playful, chunky, and so eye-catching—perfect for a mini slimline card.
To dress things up, I paired the sentiment with greenery from the Christmas Crackers Etched Die Set. The holly leaves and berry clusters add the sweetest touch of classic holiday charm.
I started by adhering the “Happy Holidays” banner first, giving me a foundation for arranging the main “fa la la” sentiment. With the banner in place, I spaced the letters across the front of my mini slimline card. From there, I built a visual triangle using the holly leaves and branches—alternating the shapes for variety and interest. The deep green cardstock was just perfect against the light pink card base.
To finish off each grouping, I added berry trios, bringing in that pop of bright holiday red and bright pink.
This Day Seven die set offers so many creative possibilities—monochromatic looks, rainbow letters, mixed-pattern stitching, or even using the stitched letters and shadows separately. No matter how you choose to use it, the bold “fa la la” sentiment is sure to shine!
